The Scoodle is not a purebred dog. It’s a cross between a purebred Poodle and Scottish Terrier. It is a one of the best designers crossbreed from the United States. It is also known as Scottiepoo or Scottish Shoodle.

The poodle is a group of formal dog breeds. It’s one of the most obedient and smartest dogs which combines a playful enthusiasm and an adventurous spirit animal. And the Scottish terrier is also known as the Aberdeen terrier. This dog breed is also quite sensitive to praise and blame.

Scoodle dog has not much history, but it’s very interesting and useful for Scoodle dog lovers. The Scoodle is a hybrid of a Scottish terrier and a poodle dog breed. The Scoodle is a designer crossbreed from the United States.

Origin: United States

This breed origin is Scotland and Germany (Nuremberg), are believed in France (Paris).  America. Scoodle is a new designer dog breed that was recognized by the International Designer Canine Association in the United States of America in 2009.

These first generation dogs could have any mix of their parent’s genes, so even in the same litter there are very different looks and personalities. This breed is also known as a group of crossbred dogs called ‘oodles’ or poodle-crosses.




 
This new breed of designer dog gained recognition by the International Designer Canine Association in the year 2009 but It has however not been recognized by the American or Canadian Kennel Clubs.

Appearance and Characteristics of Scoodle

The appearance of the Scoodle can vary depending on what it inherits from its parents.  Scoodle is a really cute little dog that has loads of energy. The Scoodle has a traditional square Scottie stance with legs that are nearly twice as long as their Scottish ancestors.

Scoodles are very good with people but can be fierce protectors of their house and owners. Some Scoodles are very alert and make good watchdogs. These dogs are quite clever, very loyal and they are very fond of playing.

The temperament of  Schoodle depends quite a lot on the characteristics of the ones of the parents. Saddles are energetic but can adapt to living in a small home or apartment as long as they receive adequate daily exercise.

It’s generally healthy, but like all cross breeds, they are prone to certain health conditions and may be prone to minor problems like Cushing’s, Bloat, Epilepsy, Legg-Perthes, Patellar Luxation, Hypothyroidism, Eye problems,  Skin Problems, Hip Dysplasia, Von Willebrand’s, Craniomandibular osteopathy and Scottie Cramp etc.

Like all the Mixed and cross breeds, veterinarians and breeders suggest that you ask about the dog’s risk for patellar luxation, liver shunts, hypoglycemia, pancreatitis and lymphangiectasia. But typically though, hybrid breeds are less vulnerable to breed-specific or genetic health issues.

Health Insurance: Insurance coverage varies: some policies cover spay/neuter, vaccinations and heartworm medication. Annual deductible will also vary depending on the policy.
