Canis Panther commonly referred to as the Panther Dog, you may have come across the name Scorpio Jones. Scorpio was a famous dog trainer from the 1970s. The Canis Panther was developed in the USA in the 1970s by Mr. Cleotha ” Scorpio ” Jones, Mr. Michael Stratten, and Mr. Lucas Lopez using the black Great Dane, black Labrador, Doberman Pinscher, and the Staffordshire Terrier.
It was bred to be a protector, used as personal guard dogs and as family guard dogs.  The Canis Panther can still be quite suspicious of strange humans and dogs, needing experienced and responsible handling. At this time the breed is fully developed, with established bloodlines and multi-generation pedigrees, and we don’t see the need for any changes.
