The Pointer is a medium to large-sized breed of dog, developed in England as a gun dog. Pointers can be stubborn, but they are highly intelligent and learn quickly when presented with firm, consistent commands and rewarded for correct behavior. The Pointer has a lean, muscular body with a short, dense coat that is usually white, liver, lemon, black, or orange in color. Pointers are extremely aristocratic in appearance and temperament making wonderful members of the family when in a home environment. They are extra gentle around children and love being part of the family.
