The Australian Shepherd is a medium-sized dog breed is known as the “Aussie”. Aussies were entirely developed in the United States to work on ranches. They are kind, loving, and devoted to those they know. They are very loyal to their owners and are rewarding dogs if treated well. The Aussie is intelligent, learns quickly and loves to play.
This breed is typically highly energetic, requiring a great deal of exercise and attention. The dog’s coats can be black, blue, merle and red with or without white markings.

They’re intelligent, loyal and looking wonderful dog breed. The dogs’ loyalty isolates them, and they don’t get along with others. This dog is among the smartest of all dog breeds and one whose owners need to pay attention lest they find themselves outsmarted. They’re intelligent but hyper and require a lot of attention.

3. Good Temperament
The Australian Shepherd is an intelligent, highly energetic, learns quickly, active dog with an excellent disposition; he is good-natured, seldom quarrelsome. The other Australian Shepherd temperament to know is authoritativeness and aggressiveness. This dog can at times be vicious towards humans, especially strangers.

4. Good with other Pets
Aussies are friendly with everyone; the Australian Shepherd as a breed tends to be somewhat reserved and cautious around strangers. They are typically outgoing and friendly. They can get along with other pets, too, although they may try to herd them. The dog may not go over too well, especially with cats.
5. Protective Dog
Aussies are very protective of their families and territory and let you know if strangers approach, but they are not considered aggressive. They have excellent guarding instincts and a strong sense of loyalty to their families. Australian Shepherds will bark when strangers approach the house, and they’ll sometimes run a few laps around the house for good measure.
Because the breed was developed to serve on the ranch, a job that includes being protective of its property is inclined to bark warnings about neighborhood activity.
6. Easy to Train
The breed is considered highly intelligent and easy to train. Aussies are highly competitive in obedience, agility, utility and other performance disciplines, and quite recently in the conformation show ring. These intelligent dogs are very trainable and need exercise and training every day. with proper training, these dogs quirks can be worked out.
7. Strong Herding
Aussies like to have their world in order and know that they can influence creating that order. Australian Shepherd is dogs with various watchdog tendencies and the independence and confidence to back up bark with a bite. Aussies like to have good leadership and to know what is expected of them.
8. Aggressive & Authoritative
Aussies when something is happening, they take action. They don’t often back off from a challenge and their problem-solving abilities and independence cause them to try to manipulate their environment. They don’t give up easily, either.
9. Playful Dog
The Aussie is intelligent, learns quickly, and loves to play. They love to play, so having another dog can be a great outlet and keep them busy during the day. These dogs require a minimum of two to three hours a day of play.
10. Love to Children
Aussies are easy-going dogs that love to romp with children. Australian Shepherd is very active and playful. They’re very active dogs and constantly demand affection. You will need to teach the child to respect the dog and respect the child.
